Klemetz stands 11-5 this fall after making the semifinals of last week's Omni Hotels Region III Championships. The junior is 6-4 this season against ranked opponents, including a victory over 19th-ranked Tiago Ruffoni in the quarterfinals last week.
Gustafsson started the fall season with a bang, winning the CCM Labor Day Tournament in Mobile, Ala., where he too defeated Ruffoni in the tourney semifinals. The 6-7 senior has been slowed of late by a hip flexor injury that prevented him from playing singles in last week's Region Championships, but he and doubles partner Oliver Foreman made the Round of 16 last week before losing to teammates Trevor Short and Michael Staniak, 9-8.
The seventh-ranked team of Foreman and Gustafsson are the second alternates for the National Indoor field in doubles, and should find out in the next few days whether they will play in the tourney.
Following the National Indoors, the Blue Raiders will take off the rest of the fall before opening play after Christmas at the University of Hawaii on January 18 in Honolulu. The home opener is set for January 26 against Louisville at the Racquet Club.
