Former Blue Raider Siljestrom advances at US Open
Siljestrom and partner Emmrich ready for second round

FLUSHING MEADOWS, N.Y. - Former Blue Raider Andreas Siljestrom and partner Martin Emmrich advanced to the second round of the US Open Men's Doubles after defeating the Australian duo of Ashley Fisher and Stephen Huss (3-6, 6-3, 7-5) on Thursday morning.
Siljestrom and Emmrich will face the 15th-seeded tandem of Mark Knowles and Xavier Malisse in the second round. Malisse currently holds the No. 33 doubles ranking, while Knowles is 40th. Knowles won the US Open doubles championship in 2004 and has finished as runner-up twice (1998 and 2009).
