Blue Raiders drop weekend finale to Cal Poly

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Both Ashley Adams and Maria Szivos each posted 12 kills on Saturday night against Cal Poly, but the Mustangs prevailed in 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-20) fashion at Alumni Memorial Gym in the Middle Tennessee Invitational.
Adams, who led the team in kills in each match in the tournament, hit .417, but as a team the Blue Raiders (2-6) were out-hit .330 to .171 and out-blocked 14.0 to 2.0.
Oyinlola Oladinni and Lindsay Cheatham combined for 15 kills with a .417 attack percentage.
Angela Peyton led the match with 42 assists.
Brynne Henderson set a new career high with 22 digs, and Peyton added seven more.
Middle Tennessee will now get ready to take on Marquette and No. 6 Minnesota next weekend in Milwaukee, Wis.
