MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee men’s golf team and senior Hunter Green were honored by Golfweek.com on Monday. The Blue Raiders were selected as the National Team of the Week and Green was voted the National Player of the Week following Sunday’s Mason Rudolph Championship.

It marks the fifth time the Blue Raiders have been voted the National Team of the Week and Green becomes the third individual to earn the National Player of the Week award. Chas Narramore won in 2009 and Jason Millard earned the honor in 2011.

The Blue Raiders shot the 14th best round in school history with a 5-under par 279 to win the event for the second time in three years. MT had a 54-hole total of 844 to win by one stroke over Mississippi and the 844 was the fourth best three-round score in school history.

Green also took the individual title for his fourth career win. Green matched his best career round on Sunday with a 4-under par 67 to finish with a 205 total which also equaled his top 54-hole score. Green is the first Blue Raider to ever win the individual title at the Mason Rudolph.
