Women's golf finishes ninth at Bettie Lou Evans Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Led by Allie Knight's five-over 77, the Middle Tennessee women's golf team finished ninth (out of 16) at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational after recording a 35-over 323 on Sunday at the University Club of Kentucky in Lexington.

Knight posted the team-best round for the second consecutive day, ending the tournament tied for 33rd in the 90-player field at 24-over.

Ashley Haggard carded a ten-over 82 to finish tied for 17th at 20-over. The junior's opening round 74 on Friday ended up being tied for the fifth best single round of play at the event.

Both Karisa Akin and Olivia Love also recorded rounds of 82 on Sunday as well. The duo tied for 36th and 40th, respectively, at 25-over and 27-over.

Steph Gough finished with a 12-over 84 to end in a tie for 85th at 45-over, and Natalie Chrisopulos, who competed in the event as an individual, tied for 72nd at 37-over.

Middle Tennessee will now have a couple weeks off before heading to Norman, Okla., for the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic on October 16.
