MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee senior golfer Hunter Green has been named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Month as announced by the league office on Monday. It marks the first honor for Green during his Blue Raider career.

The Blue Raiders have now had nine SBC golfers of the month since 2006 and at least one every year the past six seasons.

Green became the first Blue Raider to take low medalist honors at the prestigious Mason Rudolph Championship hosted by Vanderbilt in late September with a 54-hole total of 205. Green’s 205 score matched the best of his career and tied for the second-best three-round score in school history as he led Middle Tennessee to the victory by one shot over Mississippi of the SEC.

Green capped his -8 under par tourney with a 67 on Sunday to equal the best 18-hole score in his career. The senior was also impressive in the fall opener at the Carpet Capital Collegiate by shooting 2-under par 214 to place 11th in the 60 player field.

The Blue Raiders were selected as the National Team of the Week and Green was voted the National Player of the Week following the teams’ Mason Rudolph Championship.
