Kickin' it with the Blue Raiders
Jorgenson, Suominen and Kratch featured week eightOctober 5, 2011 · Athletic Communications
Each Wednesday through the regular season, GoBlueRaiders.com will feature a series of Q&As with members of the Middle Tennessee soccer program. Each of the 25 players will be included with most weeks profiling two student-athletes and three weeks highlighting three players. Student-athletes were selected by random draw for their respective week.
All players were asked the same questions; however, the choice of which questions and answers appear here were also chosen at random.
Q: Who is your favorite musical artist?
Whitney Jorgenson: Right now, SOJA. They are a reggae band Emily Harris told me about and I can’t get enough of them
Kaci Kratch: Bob Marley or Tom Petty
Q: What is your favorite book?
Hope Suominen: Nelson Mandela’s autobiography
Q: Who was your favorite sports idol as a kid?
WJ: My dad. I thought he was the greatest basketball player of all-time
HS: David Beckham, or any of the youth team Manchester United created in the 1990s
KK: Michael Jordan
Q: What one thing, off the field, can you do better than most?
Q: What is your dream job?
WJ: To become an adventure guide. It would be amazing to plan and guide my own trips all around the world. What better job than to get paid to travel?
HS: To eventually own a psychological practice that involves taking criminals from prisons with mental problems and integrating them back into society smoothly and effectively.
Q: What is your pre-game ritual?
KK: I imagine winning
Q: What is your hometown famous for?
HS: A lot of musical talent, such as Tom Jones and Lost Prophets
Q: What is a part of your game that needs improvement?
WJ: Heading. Hands down
HS: My ability to relax and not try to control everything. And shooting
KK: Left foot
Q: If you could play another sport at Middle Tennessee, what would it be?
WJ: It’s not offered here, but I think it would be pretty sweet to be on a rowing team
Q: What is one of your pet peeves?
HS: People not listening
KK: Using the word random
Q: What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?
WJ: If I knew this answer, maybe I wouldn’t have to change my major for the third time
HS: Hopefully I would have received my master’s, be working on getting my PhD and having a job that allows me to enjoy my life and fulfill all that I want to do
Q: What is your favorite quote/saying?
KK: ”I know enough to know that I know nothing” – Socrates
Q: If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
WJ: Time stopper. That would come in handy
HS: To be able to fly. Live would be so much easier
KK: Time control
Q: What do you enjoy most about soccer?
WJ: The away trips. I love traveling. But in general, it would be the people you get to meet through it.
HS: The joy it brings me when I play. I don’t enjoy the stress it comes with at times, but it’s a part and parcel of having fun sometimes. If you play “beautiful football”, then it’s amazing to be a part of.
Q: What is one food you will not try?
HS: Spicy peppers or chilis or anything like that
Q: What are some of the things you would do if you won the lottery?
WJ: I get nervous buying anything over $50 and I am too indecisive to buy anything anyways. I would probably give half to my parents and save the rest
KK: Trade it in for gold
