MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Sophomore Ben Davis dropped a heartbreaker in the third-set tiebreaker in the second round of qualifying at the 2011 ITA All-American Championships on Tuesday morning at the University of Tulsa’s Case Tennis Center.

“That was really a tough loss for Ben,” head coach Jimmy Borendame said. “It was valuable experience, though, and I know he’ll take what he learned from today’s match to make him even better for the spring.”

Davis earned a 6-2 victory in the first set before falling, 6-3, in the second. The London, England, native trailed 4-3 in the third before rebounding to win the next two games and take the 5-4 advantage over North Florida’s Moritz Buerchner.
