Lady Raiders Use Balance in First Win

The Lady Raiders jumped out to a 43-32 halftime advantage after shooting 53 percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes. MT made 8-of-17 three-point attempts in the contest.
Senior Jessica McClure was the only Lady Raider who failed to score in the contest, but she and Paula Penttila both handed out a game-high five assists, as MT totaled 20 assists in the game. Freshman Eboni Kirby grabbed a team-high six rebounds and added six points.
Joanne Aluka and Patrice Holmes both added nine points for the Lady Raiders, and Jennifer Justice and Renee Hall each had eight in the victory.
Every Lady Raider played in the contest except senior Jamie Thomatis, who sat out the game due to a violation of team rules.
Middle Tennessee plays its final exhibition contest Sunday at 3 p.m. against West Alabama at the Murphy Center. The Lady Raiders open the regular season Friday, November 16, at Tennessee State.
