Blue took the early lead in the first after leftfielder Jordan Rorex led off with a walk and later scored on third baseman Hank LaRue's base-knock up the middle. A throwing error moved LaRue to third before Guidry singled to make it 2-0.
LaRue and Guidry struck again in the third when LaRue walked then stole second to get into scoring position. Guidry plated LaRue with another RBI-single to give Blue the 3-0 advantage.
Third baseman Robert Lawrence went deep in the sixth, belting a 1-0 pitch over the leftfield wall to bring White within two.
Back-to-back one-out singles from leftfielder Andrew Cash and centerfielder Ryan Stephens gave White a chance to even the score in the top of the ninth, but relief pitcher Jonathan Sisco induced a pair of groundouts to end the threat.
Head coach Steve Peterson used six different pitchers in the scrimmage, with Wes Robinson picking up the victory after tossing five innings of two-hit ball. Blue starter Paul Mittura pitched three shutout innings before giving way to Robinson, who allowed the home run to Lawrence. Starter Johnathan Frebis took the loss for White, allowing three runs, two of them earned, in three innings of work. Nick Montgomery, Johnathan Warmbrod and Sisco also saw action during the scrimmage.
