MURFREESBORO – Middle Tennessee quarterback Logan Kilgore has been named to the 2011 Capital One Academic All-District III Football Team for the University Level as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. The award recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performance on the field and in the classroom.

Kilgore, from Rocklin, CA, has thrown for 1,894 yards for an average of 236.8 yard a game to rank 38th nationally. The sophomore is on pace to set the single-season passing record and has his sights set on the touchdown record. Kilgore enters play this weekend with 16 touchdown passes and needs seven more to tie Dwight Dasher’s record of 23.

Kilgore, who owns seven career 200-yard passing games, set a school record earlier this season when he completed his first 19 passes in a road win against FAU.

Middle Tennessee has now had an Academic All-District winner for five straight years.

Nominations and voting for the All-America programs are conducted by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America. There is a University Division (Division I programs) and a College Division (DII, DIII, NAIA, NJCAA programs).

Those on the all-district teams are now placed on the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration.
