Three Blue Raiders capture wins against No. 34 Virginia Tech

Langley defeats No. 71 Oliveira

BLACKSBURG, Va. - Marlon Brand, Matthew Langley and Ettore Zito each earned singles victories on Saturday in the Larsen Bowker Invite hosted by Virginia Tech at Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center. After dropping the first set 5-7, Langley defeated 71st-ranked Lucas Oliveira, 6-4, 6-1.

Christoph Lang and Ben Davis each suffered losses in their singles matches, but earned an 8-4 doubles victory over the No. 51 VT tandem of Somen and Tocci.

In Flight A, Zito captured the first set 6-4 and was leading 2-1 in the second set when Patrick Daciek suffered an injury, giving Zito the win.

Brand fell, 1-6, in the first set and battled back for a 6-4 win in the second set before taking the match with an 11-9 victory in the super tiebreaker.
