Blue Raiders head to Auburn, prep for home-opener

The Blue Raiders are coming off a successful weekend at the Larsen Bowker Invitational hosted by Virginia Tech. Ettore Zito, Matthew Langley and Marlon Brand each won three singles matches to lead Middle Tennessee. The squad was led on the doubles courts by their ace duo of Ben Davis and Christopher Lang who collected a pair of wins in the tournament which included Columbia, Davidson and host Virginia Tech.
Auburn comes into the match following a season-opening dual-match victory over Troy last Saturday. The Tigers are led in singles play by junior Andreas Mies who is ranked No. 18 in the ITA singles rankings. Mies pairs with senior Alex Stamchev on the doubles courts. The two currently sit at No. 6 in the country.

Following the match, the Blue Raiders will open up their 2012 home schedule with a Sunday doubleheader against Chattanooga and Morehead State at Nashboro Village. The Chattanooga match is slated for 10 a.m. with the Morehead State contest following at 3 p.m.
