MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – After a seven-match road trip to open the spring dual match campaign, the Middle Tennessee women’s tennis team finally will be at home, when it welcomes the Chattanooga Lady Mocs to the Buck Bouldin Tennis Center at 2 p.m. Thursday.

"We are thrilled to be playing at home for the first time this season," head coach Shelley Godwin said. "Though we've grown a lot the last few weeks being on the road, we are excited to play in front of our fans and on our own courts. We are looking forward to a tough match with a good UTC team."

The Blue Raiders collected a 4-3 record during the opening stretch but are coming off a 6-1 victory over UT-Martin Sunday afternoon. Junior Lexi Brand came out of the seven matches with the program’s top singles record at 5-2, one win more than freshman Nayara Moraes’ 4-3 ledger.

Sophomore Flavia Nagayama and junior Yuiri Nomoto boast the top doubles mark at 2-0, although Moraes and senior Carla Nava are 1-1 thus far.

Chattanooga enters the contest with a 4-0 record, its best start since 1991. The Lady Mocs have defeated in-state foes Lipscomb and Belmont, along with Evansville and Murray State in the early going.

Middle Tennessee has won the last 12 meetings in the series, dating back to 1999, to claim a 16-15 edge all-time against UTC. The two teams have played every year since 1999 and the Blue Raiders posted a 5-2 triumph last spring in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Live stats for the match will be available on goblueraiders.com and admission is free.
