NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee women’s tennis team earned just one win Sunday afternoon in dropping a 6-1 decision at No. 18 Vanderbilt at the Currey Tennis Center in Nashville, Tenn.

The Blue Raiders’ lone victory came at the No. 6 singles position, as Taylor Coffey clinched her triumph by winning a super tiebreaker against Megan Gornet. The Middle Tennessee (5-4) senior won the first set before holding on in the third for a 6-4, 4-6, 10-6 win.

Nationally-ranked Vanderbilt (8-4) used straight-set triumphs in the other five singles matches to lock in the overall victory. The Commodores top-two singles players are listed in the latest ITA/Campbell rankings.

The Blue Raiders battled hard in doubles action before Vanderbilt captured the point.

Middle Tennessee returns to action at 1 p.m. CST Saturday at Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton, Fla.
