Akin ties for 17th at Kiawah Island Intercollegiate

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - Karisa Akin turned in another steady performance on Tuesday, carding a two-over 74 at Cougar Point Golf Course to end in a tie for 17th (out of 179) at the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate. As a team, Middle Tennessee ended in seventh (out of 33) at 51-over.

The Blue Raiders carded a 10-over 298 on the day, knocking six shots off of Monday's total and 15 off of Sunday's.

Akin tallied one birdie and 14 pars, but Olivia Love turned in an even more steady performance, ending the day with a one-over 73. The Columbia, Tenn., native tied for 43rd at 14-over.

Allie Knight posted a three-over 75 to end in a tie for 55th at 16-over, and Ashley Haggard finished in a tie for 31st at 12 over after shooting a four-over 76.

Steph Gough carded an 87, and Natalie Chrisopulos tied for 77th as an individual after a four-over 76.

The Blue Raiders will now take a little bit of a break before returning to action at the Pinehurst Challenge, which will begin on March 19.
