Blue Raiders open home outdoor play Saturday

Middle Tennessee (6-5) enters the match fresh off defeating No. 58 UTSA on Tuesday in San Antonio, Texas, closing its Texas road trip with a 2-2 record. IUPUI comes to town with a record of 6-11 overall, 2-0 in the Summit League. The Jaguars went 2-1 last weekend, knocking off Oral Roberts and UMKC before falling to Wright State on Sunday.
Ben Davis leads the Blue Raiders as the squad’s ace in singles competition. He has posted a 6-4 record this spring after going 8-4 during the fall season. Meanwhile Christoph Lang has gotten off to a strong start in his freshman campaign. The Vienna, Austria, native has amassed an 8-3 record in dual play, including going 4-0 out of the No. 3 slot.
Matthew Langley and Ettore Zito have helped guide Middle Tennessee on the doubles courts. The duo is coming off a thrilling comeback win against UTSA to clinch the doubles point, which ended up deciding the overall match.
IUPUI is propelled by junior Joel Modesitt. He went 2-0 in both singles and doubles play in the squad’s two conference matches last weekend, earning him Summit League Player of the Week honors.
