Raiders tied for second at Argent Financial Classic

CHOUDRANT, La. – Middle Tennessee, ranked 46th nationally, shot a four over par 292 on the opening day of the Argent Financial Classic to tie 20th ranked LSU for second place. The Blue Raiders are just four shots back of host Louisiana Tech who fired an even par 288 on the Squire Creek Country Club Course.

Arkansas-Little Rock is in fourth while Southern Miss and Missouri State are tied for fifth in the nine-team field tournament.

Senior Brad Simons, who is enjoying his best spring as a Blue Raider, carded a four under par 68 and is in second place overall. Simons had four birdies and 14 pars on his round Sunday.

Freshman Andrew Cho rebounded from a neck injury last week and had a 73 to tie for 16th. Cho had three birdies on the day, including one on his final hole.

Senior Hunter Green, who was even through 14 holes, finished with a 75 and is tied for 29th.

Sophomore Brett Patterson registered a 76 and is tied for 33rd while sophomore Paul Sansom completed the Blue Raider scoring with an 83. Sansom is tied for 52nd.

The Blue Raiders will tee off for the second round Monday beginning at 10:20 AM.
