KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Middle Tennessee’s LaRon Dendy and Marcos Knight were named to the All-District 24 Team, as announced on Wednesday by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). Dendy earned first-team accolades, while Knight received second-team honors.

Dendy and Knight represent the third and fourth NABC selections in MT history, joining James Washington and Desmond Yates, who each earned first-team honors. This marks the first year the Blue Raiders have had multiple honorees in the same season.

The 2012 Sun Belt Player of the Year, Dendy has been one of the key factors in MT’s historic season. He has posted seven double-doubles this year, including an 18-point, 13-rebound effort Tuesday night in the Blue Raiders’ 86-78 victory over Marshall in the opening round of the NIT. The Greenville, S.C., native leads the team with 14.9 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, in addition to 48 blocks. The Lou Henson Award candidate also ranks third on the team with 67 assists.

Knight, an all-conference second-team honoree, is the Blue Raiders’ second-leading scorer with 11.7 points per game. The Rentz, Ga., native has tallied 23 double-figure scoring performances this season and ranked among the Sun Belt’s top 15 in four different categories, including scoring, field goal percentage, assists and steals. He, along with Dendy, is one of two Blue Raiders to start every game this season.

The fourth-seeded Blue Raiders will travel to No. 1 seed Tennessee for a second-round NIT matchup. The game day and time are still to be determined.
