MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee baseball team hopped out to a 6-0 lead, and WKU later added two runs as play was suspended in the bottom of the eighth inning in Saturday evening's meeting with the Hilltoppers at Reese Smith Jr. Field.

Prior to the game being suspended, there were four separate rain delays adding up to over three hours.

Trent Miller was the engine behind a Blue Raider offense that scored six runs over the first three innings, going 4-for-4 with a run scored and five runs batted in, including a three-run blast in the third.

Justin Guidry and Hank LaRue each collected a hit and two runs, and the Blue Raiders out-hit WKU, 7-5.

Johnathan Frebis made the start on the mound, and faced the minimum over his first five innings, and left the mound prior to the evening's third delay. The freshman tossed six innings and allowed two runs over four hits.

The Blue Raiders and Hilltoppers will continue play at 1 p.m. tomorrow. Sunday's regularly scheduled game will be played 30 minutes later.
