Davis was stellar against 30th-ranked Memphis on Saturday. The London native picked up his eighth singles dual victory after battling through a first-set tiebreaker for the 7-6 (6-5), 6-3 win in the top slot. Davis then teamed with Christoph Lang for doubles action in the two-slot, also taking that to a tiebreaker before capturing an 8-7 (7-5) win.
Davis becomes the third Blue Raider in program history to collect at least three Sun Belt weekly awards. He joins John Peers, who earned four weekly honors, and Andreas Siljestrom, who won a program-best seven accolades.
Davis and the Blue Raiders look to rebound after last weekend’s loss to the Tigers as they host the Sun Belt Shootout on Saturday and Sunday. MT will face Austin Peay at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Buck Bouldin Tennis Center. All matches are free and open to the public.
