MADISON, Miss. - Three Blue Raiders are among the top 20 after day one of play at the BancorpSouth Intercollegiate at Reunion Golf and Country Club in Madison, Miss. As a team, Middle Tennessee sits in a tie for sixth place in the 16-team field, carding a three-under 285, nine strokes off the lead, which is held by Wichita State.

Two rounds were initially scheduled for Monday, but due to inclement weather, the tournament has been shortened to 36 holes with play concluding on Tuesday.

"Well, I hate that it's been cut to 36 holes," head coach Whit Turnbow said. "We have to deal with it and try to make as many birdies as possible over the last nine holes."

Hunter Green led the Blue Raiders with a pretty steady opening round, picking up three birdies and 14 pars on the way to ending with a two-under 70 to sit in a tie for 12th in the 80-player field.

Brett Patterson had five birdies and Jordan Jennings added three more, but the duo also combined for six bogeys, both finishing the first 18 holes with a one-under 71.

Lucas Armstrong shot a one-over 73, and a Brad Simons posted a three over 75 to round out the line-up for MT.

The second round of play will resume on Tuesday. Live scoring is available via Golfstat.com.
