MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The 56th-ranked Blue Raider men’s tennis team finishes out the home portion of the 2012 campaign on Tuesday, welcoming the No. 59 UAB Blazers to the Buck Bouldin Tennis Center for a 1 p.m. match. Middle Tennessee will honor its lone senior, Matthew Langley, prior to the start of the contest.

Although UAB leads the overall series, 14-6, MT has won the last four meetings between the two programs, including a 5-2 victory in Birmingham, Ala., last year. The Blue Raiders (14-6) enter Tuesday’s contest on a six-match winning streak, equaling the longest since MT won six in a row to end the regular season in 2009, then added three more in the postseason for a nine-match winning streak. MT collected a pair of key road wins last weekend, defeating both Southern Miss and Tulane, 4-3.

Ben Davis has been a workhorse for the Blue Raiders in the top spot, reeling off seven consecutive singles victories for a 21-8 overall and 13-4 dual record. Langley has delivered five straight singles wins for a 19-12 overall and 12-7 dual record.

In doubles action, Yannick Born and Marlon Brand continue to play in the No. 1 position with a 9-7 record, while Davis and Christoph Lang have teamed up for five consecutive doubles victories and an 11-9 record.

UAB has posted a 16-4 record this season, finishing the weekend with a 5-2 win over Southern Miss. Danny Manlow leads the Blazers in the top slot, while Daniel Moser earned Conference USA Player of the Week honors for his 5-0 performance over the weekend, improving his singles record to 14-3 in dual action.
