Dudley leads Track & Field at East Regional

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Middle Tennessee junior Ann Dudley placed fifth in the women’s high jump competition on the second day of the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field East Regional.

The Jacksonville native successfully cleared the bar at 5 feet, 11.25 inches (1.81 meters). The result advanced her to the NCAA Championships where she will look to follow up her indoor season All-America honors in the event.

Rosina Amenebede placed sixth in the first heat of the women’s 100-meter hurdles, clocking a time of 13.52 seconds. Her time qualified her for the quarterfinals of the event on Saturday at 6:20 p.m. CT.

In Friday’s 400-meter dash preliminary runs, Noah Akwu crossed the finish line in 20.86 seconds while placing third in the third heat. Meanwhile on the women’s side, Kiara Henry posted a time of 24.03 seconds, finishing fourth in the third heat of the competition. Both runners advanced to Saturday’s quarterfinals.

Cordairo Golden placed 13th in the men’s triple jump with a leap of 50-10.00 (15.49m). The result unfortunately was not quite good enough to advance him to the NCAA Championships.

The meet will conclude Saturday with a number of Blue Raiders competing throughout the day. Complete meet information including a schedule of events, heats sheets, a live webcam and live results can be found here.
