Rosina Amenebede, Christal Wilson, Nyeisha Wright and Kiara Henry joined together to place second in the first heat of the competition with a time of 44.89 seconds. The result was good enough to advance the quartet to next month’s Championships in Des Moines, Iowa.

The Blue Raider men’s 4x400-meter relay team was unable to follow up on the women’s success, however. Rycine Ellison, Noah Akwu, Steven Palmer and Roscoe Payne clocked a time of 3:10.21, placing eighth in the second heat of the race.

Unfortunately none of the three were able to advance in their individual events.
