MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – When the 2012 Middle Tennessee football team officially reports on August 2, a renovated and upgraded locker room awaits.

In May, the entire area was gutted to make way for new flooring, new state-of-the-art lockers, numerous televisions, a new entry way, and an area for juice and breakfast bar. Already at the completion stage is the flooring, lockers, and the relocation of a wall partition to enhance the layout and lounge area.

A total of 114 new Gearboss wooden lockers have been installed. The lockers have the antimicrobial ventilation system, fan units, ventilated shoulder pad and helmet drying racks, digitally locked valuables compartment, and an electrical outlet.

By mid-July, the room will also have smoked-glass double entry doors, nine ceiling-mounted flat screen televisions, updated mural/logo features and paint, along with a counter area to be utilized for juice and a breakfast bar.

The room is also equipped with a lounge area that includes a pool table, a gaming area, and a station to watch game film.

“It’s something that our players will really enjoy,” said Rick Stockstill, head football coach. “The room will have a better flow, more amenities, and provide our players with a place to unwind. It will also serve as a great recruiting tool and a place our new guys will be very excited about.”
