MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - After finishing the 2012 campaign ranked 46th nationally, the Blue Raider men's tennis team took part in the draft for the 2013 ITA Kick-Off Weekend on Tuesday. Middle Tennessee will travel to Duke for the prestigious tournament, slated for Jan. 25-27 at the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center.

"It is an honor for our program to have the opportunity to take part in this highly-regarded tournament," head coach Jimmy Borendame said. "This is another step toward our goal of become one of the top 30 programs in the nation."

MT opens the tournament against the Blue Devils, who finished as the No. 8 team in the country this season. Northwestern and Virginia Tech round out the Blue Raiders four-team field. The Wildcats were ranked No. 42 at the end of the 2012 season, while the Hokies were No. 45.

The national tournament highlights the best collegiate tennis in the country, featuring 15 host locations and four teams in each field, with each team guaranteed two matches. The winners of each of the first two matches at an individual site will play in a championship match, while the losers will square off for a consolation match. The winner of the championship match at each site will be invited to play in the Feb. 15-18 ITA National Team Indoor Championship hosted by the University of Washington.
