Guidry, Miller earn ABCA All-South Central Region First Team honors
Duo eligible for All-America status
June 11, 2012 · Athletic CommunicationsAn All-Sun Belt First Team honoree this year, Guidry led the league with 87 hits and ranked second with a .364 batting average. The senior finished his career at MT as the all-time singles leader with 216. He also is tied for third in the school record book with 278 hits and sixth with a .368 career average.
The Mount Juliet, Tenn., native earned all-region honors for the second time in his career, having also picked up first-team accolades as a sophomore in 2010. Guidry is only the second Blue Raider to earn multiple first-team honors in his career, joining three-time honoree Bryce Brentz.
Miller picked up his first career all-region honor after delivering an outstanding sophomore campaign. He finished second in the league in hits (78), home runs (13) and slugging percentage (.588). The Kansas City, Mo., native also ranked sixth in the league with a .345 batting average.
This marks the fifth time MT has had multiple all-region first-team representatives. The Blue Raiders also had multiple selections in 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010.
