Mittura named VBL Pitcher of the Week
Junior righthander picked up a win and three saves last week
June 25, 2012 · Athletic CommunicationsThe righthander had an outstanding week for the Braves, recording a win and three saves in five appearances. He pitched 4.2 innings in those five appearances, allowing just one hit and striking out seven against five walks.
Mittura picked up his first win of the summer on Thursday after holding the Strasburg Express hitless in an inning of relief. The Clarksville, Tenn., native is currently tied for the league lead with four saves and is second with 11 appearances.
He is joined by Blue Raider teammate Ryan Stephens as a member of the Braves. Stephens is currently hitting .293 in 18 starts.
