FORT COLLINS, Colo. –Middle Tennessee women’s basketball will open the 2012-13 campaign against Kennesaw State in Murphy Center on Nov. 9 as part of the Preseason WNIT, as unveiled Tuesday morning by Triple Crown Sports in its announcement of the 16-team bracket.
“We look forward to facing Kennesaw State to start the season,” Blue Raider head coach Rick Insell said. “The Owls are a quality opponent and will give us a good test early.”
Middle Tennessee will then face the winner or loser of Memphis and Grambling Nov. 11 in the Second Round, based upon the current bracket setup, which could change depending on results in the other seven opening round contests.
The Blue Raiders and Owls have met only once previously, with MT holding a 1-0 all-time series advantage. The two teams last played Jan. 4, 1988, with the Blue Raiders prevailing, 83-66, in Murfreesboro.
