Peterson to be honored at reception on Aug. 14

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Former Middle Tennessee baseball head coach Steve Peterson, who retired on July 5 after 25 years at the program's helm, will be honored at a reception on Aug. 14 at the Rose and Emmett Kennon Hall of Fame. The event is open to the public and will begin at 5 p.m.
The reception will take place prior to the Blue Raider Athletic Association (BRAA) appreciation dinner. Following the reception, BRAA members who have registered in advance are invited to the Murphy Center for dinner.
Peterson, MT's all-time winningest coach, finished his career with a 944-733-3 career record. Since taking over the program in 1988, Peterson has amassed 16 seasons of 30 or more wins, including four 40-win seasons. His Blue Raider record of 791-637-3 includes 11 regular-season conference championships, nine conference tournament titles and nine NCAA Regional appearances.
