Men's basketball selected for ESPNU telecast

MT game vs. Vanderbilt to air nationally

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee men's basketball has been selected for an ESPNU telecast during the upcoming season.

"The national exposure your university and program get when playing on the ESPN networks is fantastic," head coach Kermit Davis said. "Last year, we ended up having 15 televised games, and that was exciting for fans to see. To have a game on ESPNU already this year is not only another great opportunity for our basketball program to grow, but it's also a chance to see a fantastic crowd fill Bridgestone Arena."

The Blue Raiders' contest against the Vanderbilt Commodores at Bridgestone Arena on Dec. 21 will air on ESPNU. Tipoff has been changed to 8 p.m. CT from the originally scheduled time of 7 p.m. CT.

"The game against Vanderbilt last season was one of the greatest college basketball games I've ever been a part of," Davis said. "I expect nothing but the same again this year."

The option for more telecasts remains open, as the Sun Belt Network, ESPN3 and other networks have yet to finalize their schedules. Last season, the Blue Raiders made 15 televised appearances between ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3 and CSS among others.

MT opens the 2012-13 campaign on Nov. 5 in an exhibition against Auburn-Montgomery at 7 p.m. in Murphy Center. The Blue Raiders' regular season begins Nov. 9 when MT hosts Alabama State at 7:45 p.m.

Men's basketball season tickets are on sale now for $140, or purchase both men's and women's season tickets for $199.
