Volleyball returns home to host Austin Peay Tuesday night

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee volleyball team returns home to Alumni Memorial Gym on Tuesday night to take on Austin Peay at 7 p.m. This weekend, the Blue Raiders will play in their final weekend tournament before Sun Belt play begins when they go to Louisville for the Louisville Invitational. Middle Tennessee will take on #12 Louisville, Miami (Fla.), and UNLV at the KFC Yum! Center.
Last weekend, the Blue Raiders were swept 3-0 in matches against Western Michigan, LSU, and North Carolina at the Carolina Classic. It was the first time since the start of the 2004 season that Middle Tennessee lost three consecutive matches by 3-0 scores. Senior outside hitter Ashley Adams was named to the Carolina Classic All-Tournament team after averaging 3.78 kills per set and a .224 hitting percentage in the Blue Raiders' three matches. Over her last five matches, Adams has averaged 3.72 kills and 0.67 blocks per set.
Austin Peay is 5-9 on the 2012 season after going 2-1 at the Bama Bash hosted by Alabama last weekend. The Lady Govs swept both Lamar and Alabama State on Saturday for their two wins in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Jada Stotts leads Austin Peay with 3.67 kills per set and a .241 hitting percentage.
Tuesday night's match will be webstreamed on GoBlueRaiders.com. The broadcast is being produced by an all-student crew from the Middle Tennessee Mass Communications Department, who will also produce each of the remaining seven Blue Raiders home matches this season.
