December 10, 2001 · MT Media RelationsTenngren, who had started in each of the seven games the Blue Raiders had played prior to his suspension, is averaging 8.7 points per game while leading the team with a 7.1 per game rebounding average.
"Iiro has been suspended until further notice," Wiel said. "He violated our team rules and has some personal issues that he needs time to resolve. I won't comment further until a more appropriate time."
Tenngren, a native of Helsinki, Finland, averaged 10 points and 4.3 boards during his career at Middle Tennessee. He missed five games during the 1999-00 season after sitting out during the first semester after transferring from Vanderbilt the year before. He played in all 27 of the team's games last season.
