MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Practice for the 2012-13 Middle Tennessee women's basketball season officially kicked off Monday afternoon at the newly renovated floor of the Murphy Center.
The Blue Raiders used a full two hours as the squad practiced basic drills and worked on schemes. Over the next few weeks, Coach Rick Insell and staff will work on individual and team drills as the Raiders prep to open the season on Nov. 9.
MT is coming off a 26-7 overall record and a 16-0 conference mark from last season. Three preseason magazines slated the Raiders in their preseason Top-25 rankings, including the most recent from Street & Smith's Magazine.
The season opens with a pair of exhibition games against Alabama-Huntsville (Nov. 1) and Lincoln Memorial (Nov. 6). The preseason WNIT kicks off the first official game of the season on Nov. 9 as Middle Tennessee hosts Kennesaw State.
Season tickets are on sale now for $100. Fans can purchase a combo pack for both the men's and women's basketball teams for $199. To get more information, click here or call 1-800-YES-MTSU.
