Cunningham, Barber honored by TSWA
Raiders sweep weekly awards

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee's Benny Cunningham and T.T. Barber were named the Tennessee Sports Writers Association Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, on Tuesday after their performances in the Blue Raiders victory over Georgia Tech.
Cunningham rushed 27 times for 217 yards and five touchdowns, all career-bests, including a 60-yard scoring run in the 49-28 win against the Yellowjackets. The Nashville, Tenn., native posted two scoring runs in the second quarter, including the 60-yarder, added a 23-yarder in the third period and scored twice more on the ground in the fourth quarter. The five rushing touchdowns in a game tied for the second most in a single game.
Barber posted 11 tackles, including 10 solo stops and two tackles for loss. The Colquitt, Ga., freshman also forced a fumble in the first quarter.
