Know Your Blue Raiders: Kristina Turner and Katinka Stenberg

Each week GoBlueRaiders.com will feature four Middle Tennessee Soccer student-athletes in a question and answer session.

This week's first of two editions features freshman defender Kristina Turner from Lenoir City and freshman forward Katinka Stenberg from Oppegaard, Norway.

Kristina Turner / Freshman / Defender / Lenoir City, Tenn.

Q: What are your favorite hobbies?

A: My favorite hobbies are playing soccer, hanging out with friends, playing tennis, and watching movies.

Q: What led you to come to Middle Tennessee?

A: What led me to come to Middle Tennessee was the soccer team. I loved the girls here. I also loved Coach Rhoden. They made me feel like I was joining a family.

Q: What is your favorite part of your hometown Lenoir City, Tenn.?

A: My favorite part about my hometown is how small and close knit that it is. Everyone knows everyone and I absolutely love that.

Q: Who has been an influential person in your life?

A: I could not choose one person that has influenced my life the most. My parents are pretty equal. They have shown me that the harder you work in life, the more you achieve. I could not ask for better parents. I love them.

Q: What are your goals for the season?

A: My goals for this season are to become a more educated and skillful player. My team goals are to win the conference and advance in the NCAA tournament!

Q: What is your favorite movie?

A: Billy Madison for sure!

Q: Who is your celebrity crush?

A: Ryan Reynolds and Channing Tatum :)

Q: If you could visit any country in the world, which would it be?

A: Australia! I have always wanted to go there!

Q: What is your greatest fear?

A: It's a tossup between spiders and tornadoes.

Q: What is your biggest pet peeve?

A: The sound of Styrofoam rubbing together.

Katinka Stenberg / Freshman / Forward / Oppegaard, Norway

Q: What are your favorite hobbies?

A: Hanging out with friends and family, soccer, walking in the mountains, cross-country skiing and baking.

Q: What led you to decide to come to Middle Tennessee?

A: I am from Norway, and I wanted to experience soccer in a different country. After being contacted by head coach Aston Rhoden, I was sure that Middle Tennessee would be the best fit for me.

Q: What is your favorite thing about your hometown, Oppegaard, Norway?

A: I like that I can just walk out of my door to go for a run in the woods and that the soccer field is a minute away from my house. My hometown is not very big, and that is something I like.

Q: Who has made the biggest influence in your life?

A: My parents have definitely made the biggest influence on my life, but also a lot of other people. I am so happy that I have had, and still have, so many great people around me.

Q: What are your goals for this season?

A: My goal for the season is to help the team win the regular season, the tournament and also make it to the NCAA tournament. As a forward my goal is also to score many goals and create scoring opportunities for my teammates.

Q: What is your favorite TV show?

A: Criminal Minds

Q: If you could visit any country in the world, which would it be?

A: I would go to New Zealand to visit my teammate Kate Loye!

Q: What is your favorite quote?

A: "Success is how high you bounce when you hit the bottom."

Q: What is your favorite holiday?

A: My favorite holiday is Christmas because I get to see my whole family and eat good food!
