Know your Blue Raiders: Kelsie Roberts and Emily Hartshorn

This week's final showcase features sophomore midfielder Kelsie Roberts from Sarnia, Ontario and sophomore midfielder Emily Hartshorn from Oklahoma City, Okla.

Q: What are your favorite hobbies?
A: My favorite hobbies include writing (mostly poetry/ songs), biking, volleyball and SINGING!
Q: What led you to decide to come to Middle Tennessee?
A: My sister and I wanted to definitely go to school together and this was the one place that felt like home to the both of us. I think it is partly because the southern hospitality here is similar to the way most people are back home in Canada... friendly !
Q: What is your favorite thing about your hometown?
A: My favorite thing about my hometown, Sarnia Ontario, is all the beaches! Summer times back home are amazing and so beautiful on the water.
Q: Who has made the biggest influence in your life?
A: The biggest influence in my life is by far my dad. If one day I grow up to be half the person he is, I know I'll do just fine in life!
Q: What are your goals for this season?
A: My main goal for this season is simple... WIN!
Q: What is your favorite TV show?
A: My favorite TV show would have to be Glee! Every Thursday a bunch of us from the team get together and have a Gleek night!
Q: What is your favorite restaurant?
A: Any one of the hibachi restaurants here in town. We don't have those back home and it is probably one of the coolest things I've ever witnessed!
Q: If you could meet anyone in the world, who would they be?
A: Before I would have said Justin Bieber, but I already got to meet him this summer! It was an awesome experience, and I am definitely a true belieber!
Q: What is one talent you wish you had?
A: The one talent I wish I had and I'm sure the rest of my team can agree is being good at singing! I sing all the time regardless, but I'm sure their ears would appreciate the improvement as well!
Q: What is your favorite candy?
A: I am a chocoholic for sure! Any chocolate candy will do!!!
Emily Hartshorn / Sophomore / Midfielder / Oklahoma City, Okla.
Q: What are your favorite hobbies?
A: My favorite hobbies are hanging out with my friends, family and dogs, playing soccer and watching my OKC Thunder play basketball.
Q: What led you to decide to come to Middle Tennessee?
A: I decided to come to Middle Tennessee mostly because of the soccer program. After meeting the coaches and players I feel like this was a place I could fit in well with. Then the comforting homey feeling of Murfreesboro and the closeness to Nashville was just icing on my Middle Tennessee cake.
Q: What is your favorite thing about your hometown?
A: The Oklahoma City Thunder basketball team is definitely my favorite thing about my hometown.
Q: Who has made the biggest influence in your life?
A: My parents have made the biggest influence in my life. They are my number one fans and have shown and pushed me to become a better person, athlete and student. My parents have taught me to never give up and to always pursue my dreams!
Q: What are your goals for this season?
A: My main goal for this season is to win conference, while becoming the best defensive player I can be along the way!
Q: Who is your celebrity crush?
A: Ryan Lochte
Q: What is your dream job?
A: Being a Physical Therapist for the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball team
Q: What is your favorite quote?
A: "Keep calm and carry on."
Q: What is your favorite time of the day?
A: Naptime
Q: What is your biggest pet peeve?
A: My biggest pet peeve would have to be when people bite down on their fork when eating and of course smacking!
