Blue Raiders in 8th at Jerry Pate

Final round set for Tuesday

VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. - The Middle Tennessee men's golf team finished day one of the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate Monday on the par-70 7,204-yard Old Overton Golf Club with an 18-over 298 after 18 holes.

The second round was not completed due to a fog delay prior to the start of Monday's first round. The conclusion of the second round will be played Tuesday beginning at 7:30 a.m. (CDT). Nine of the 12 teams have players remaining on the course. The third round is scheduled to be played starting at 8:30 a.m.

The Blue Raiders, one of just three teams to complete 36 holes, were in eighth place following round one as Florida grabbed the early lead with a 282. Alabama was in second followed by UNLV, Clemson, and Mississippi State and Auburn were tied for fifth.

Payne Denman led the Blue Raiders with a 72 to tie for 11th, while Brett Patterson carded a 73 and is tied for 16th.

Lucas Armstrong fired a 75 and is in a tie for 24th. Andrew Cho and Dane Voss rounded out the scoring with a 78 and 80, respectively.

The Blue Raiders shot a 294 in the second round as Cho led the way with a 71. Patterson and Voss both had 74s while Armstrong and Denman registered 75s.
