NORMAN, Okla. - The Middle Tennessee women's golf team wrapped up play in its toughest tournament of the season at the Susie Berning Maxwell Classic. The Blue Raiders finished 17th at the par-72, 6-327-yard Jimmie Austin OU Golf Course.

MT carded a 307 on the final day to finish with a three-day total of 931 (+67). No. 13 Oklahoma maintained its lead to take home top team honors with an 859 (-5). No. 20 Notre Dame jumped up to the second spot with an 888 (+24), and No. 32 Denver rounded out the top three with an 898 (+34). Along with the three top team finishers, the field of 18 included eight additional top 50 teams in the country, with three in the top 30.

Oklahoma's Chirapat Jao-Javanil's 68 on the final day sealed her spot as the tournament's medalist with a 209 combined score (-7). Sarah Schober (Redlands Community College) and Lindsey Weaver (Notre Dame) tied for second with a 211 (-5).

MT's Ashley Haggard shot a 77 for the second straight day to finish with a 227 (+11) as the top Blue Raider competitor in a tie for 30th. Avery George's 74 was the best for MT on the final day and put her in a tie for 60th with a score of 232 (+16). Stephanie Smith (238, +22) tied for 76th, Natalie Chrisopulos (242, +26) and Emily Miller (243, +27) in 84th rounded out the Blue Raiders in action.

MT wraps up fall action next week as the Blue Raiders return home for the only time during the 2012-13 season to host the Blue Raider Invitational. The tournament begins with 36 holes on Monday at Old Fort Golf Club and will conclude with the final 18 on Tuesday.
