Annual series begins Monday
October 18, 2012 · @MTAthleticsMURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee baseball team hosts its annual Blue-White Series beginning Monday, Oct. 22 and wrapping up Wednesday, Oct. 24. The yearly exhibition features an intrasquad scrimmage with bragging rights on the line for the winner of the best-of-three series.
The Monday and Wednesday contests will begin at 3:30 p.m., while Tuesday's first pitch is slated for 6 p.m. All games are free and open to the public.
The series will mark the end of fall practice for the Blue Raiders under first-year head coach Jim McGuire and will give fans a preview of the 2013 squad. In addition to five newcomers, MT returns 28 letterwinners, including 15 seniors, from last year's team that finished 31-28. Game one of the series will pit sophomore Johnathan Frebis, the 2012 Sun Belt Freshman of the Year, against sophomore Keaton Baker on the hill. Junior transfer Zac Curtis and senior Hunter Adkins will square off in game two, while the game three starters are still to be determined.
