Kilgore picked as SBC Offensive Player of Week
Junior threw for 349 yards and 3 TDs in victory
October 29, 2012 · @MTAthleticsMURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee junior quarterback back Logan Kilgore was named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday as announced by the league office. It marks the first-ever player of the week honor for the Rocklin, CA native.
Kilgore led an aggressive Blue Raider offense by registering his third career 300-yard game and the first of the season with 349 yards in a convincing, 38-21, win over North Texas on Saturday. He completed 20-of-30 passes with three touchdowns and registered big yardage completions of 72, 52, 49 and 34 yards. Kilgore also ran for a career-long 45-yard touchdown to better his previous long run of 16 yards.
Kilgore now ranks second on the all-time list for 300-yard games with Clint Marks and Kelly Holcomb and is four shy of equaling the school mark set by Wes Counts. It also went down as the 13th career 200-yard passing game and sixth of the season. Kilgore, who ranks third all-time in 200-yard games, is chasing all-time leaders Counts and Marks with 18 in their respective careers.
In eight contests this season, Kilgore has thrown 152 completions for 1,930 yards and 12 touchdowns, and is vying to become just the second quarterback in school history to record back-to-back 2,000-yard passing seasons.
This marks the 46th SBC Player of the Week honor under Rick Stockstill and the 12th offensive honor.
