Cintron listed among CBSSports.com's Top 50 shooters
Senior guard ranked 39th in the country
October 30, 2012 · @MTAthleticsMURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Senior guard Raymond Cintron has been listed among CBSSports.com's Top 50 shooters for the upcoming season.
Cintron was listed as the No. 39 shooter in the country after hitting 43.2 percent of his shots from beyond the arc last season. The San Juan, Puerto Rico, native ranked sixth in the Sun Belt in 3-point shooting and was ninth with 2.0 treys per game. Overall, Cintron shot 45 percent from the field and averaged 8.4 points per game.
Not only was Cintron solid from 3-point land, but he also led the Blue Raiders with a 90.7 free throw percentage. He was especially clutch against Louisiana on Jan. 7, going 12-for-12 from the stripe.
Middle Tennessee will also face four shooters on the list throughout the 2012-13 season. Florida's Erik Murphy, Texas Southern's Omar Strong, Belmont's Ian Clark and Tennessee State's Robert Covington were listed among the top 50. For the complete list, click here.
Cintron and the Blue Raiders will play their first exhibition on Monday, hosting Auburn-Montgomery at 7 p.m. in Murphy Center. The regular season opens Nov. 9 when MT welcomes Alabama State to Murphy Center for a 7:45 p.m. contest.
