Blue Raiders garner more votes in AP poll

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Middle Tennessee women's basketball gained 12 more points and remained 27th in the Associated Press Top 25 poll released on Monday.
MT (2-0) sits just outside the Top 25 poll. In the preseason AP poll, MT had earned 70 votes for a No. 27 ranking. Texas (19) and Georgetown (25) entered the poll for the first time this year. MT is 21 points behind No. 26 Kansas, who garnered 103 in the Nov. 12 poll, and 30 points from the 25th ranked Hoyas.
The Blue Raiders picked up a pair of victories in the first two rounds of the Preseason WNIT. MT defeated Kennesaw State in Friday's season opener, 87-45, before downing in-state rival Memphis, 82-68, on Sunday afternoon. Middle Tennessee led the Preseason WNIT field in attendance in the first two rounds. A rowdy 5,806 showed up at the Murphy Center on Friday with another strong contingent of 3,273 on hand Sunday afternoon.
On Wednesday, Nov. 14, the Raiders visit Iowa for the first time in school history. The Preseason WNIT semifinal matchup is set for 7 p.m. at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa.
