Middle Tennessee women's tennis returns to action this Friday, Jan. 25 with a visit to Lipscomb. MT and the Lady Bisons square off in a 7 p.m. contest at Whitworth Racquet Club in Nashville.

The Blue Raiders (0-2) had a pair of tough losses to open the dual match season, dropping a 4-3 contest to Akron and a 5-2 decision to No. 50 Penn State.

Senior Nayara Moraes leads the Raiders with a 2-0 record playing at the No. 5 spot. Irina Constantinide, Flavia Nagayama and Carla Nava each registered victories in singles action.

The doubles tandem of Flavia Nagayma and Alexandra Torres picked up the lone doubles win for MT last week against Akron.

MT faces a Lipscomb (0-1) program that dropped its season opener at Memphis, 7-0. The Lady Bisons are led by junior Melissa Kromer who plays in the top slot. LU has three freshmen on this year's roster.

"We are ready to get back on the courts and compete," said head coach Shelley Godwin. "The girls have done a good job of working on specific areas that we need to improve and I look forward to seeing us put it into play."
