Women's Basketball picks up more votes in Coaches' Poll
Blue Raiders have won nine consecutive games
January 29, 2013 · @MTAthleticsMiddle Tennessee women's basketball earned 11 more votes in the USA Today Sports/ESPN Division I Top 25 Coaches' poll released on Tuesday. You can view the rankings here.
The Blue Raiders (15-5, 10-1 Sun Belt) picked up a critical pair of wins last week. MT won a 60-47 road contest at North Texas before defeating archrival Western Kentucky, 79-57, on Sunday afternoon. Middle Tennessee has a win streak of seven games, which is tied for seventh nationally.
Voters gave Middle Tennessee a total of 18 votes, besting a previous seven from last week. This week's votes would put the Raiders 28th overall. MT trails Iowa (37), Villanova (28) and Delaware (22) in the poll. In the recent RPI rankings, the Raiders moved up six spots to No. 48.
This weekend, the Blue Raiders visit to FIU on Thursday, Jan. 31 and Florida Atlantic on Saturday, Feb. 2.
