Blue Raiders sit ninth at Hurricane Invitational
Play suspended in second round due to darkness
February 4, 2013 · @MTAthleticsCORAL GABLES, Fla. - The Blue Raider women's golf team currently sits ninth at the Hurricane Invitational after nearly two rounds of play. Action was suspended due to darkness with four holes remaining in the second round.
Play will resume on Tuesday at 8 a.m. ET at Deering Bay Yacht & Country Club.
MT finished the first round tied for seventh with a 305 (+21) and is currently 51 over, behind five teams that rank among the top 60 in the country. No. 48 Texas State leads the field at 17 over after shooting a 292 in the first round. No. 23 Baylor sits second at 21 over and No. 11 Oklahoma State rounds out the top three at 28 over. Oklahoma State's Kelsey Vines leads the field after shooting a 70 in the first round.
Tied in 29th place, Avery George and Olivia Love are pacing the Blue Raiders at 10 over, with each carding a 75 in the first round. Allie Knight shot a 76 and is 15 over in 53rd, while Emily Williams is a stroke behind her at 16 over. Ashley Haggard rounds out MT's five at 20 over.
The tournament concludes on Tuesday with the third round following the final holes of the second round. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
