Middle Tennessee looks to snap a two-match losing streak against unbeaten UAB on Sunday, Feb. 10. First serve is set for 2:30 p.m. at the Nashboro Village Athletic Club.

The Blue Raiders (1-4) dropped a 4-1 decision to ETSU last Sunday, Feb. 3. Despite holding an edge in the doubles points and several of the singles matches, the Lady Bucs prevailed in the win.

Sophomore Nayara Moraes leads Middle Tennessee with a 3-1 record at the five position, while Flavia Nagayama holds a 3-2 mark at the No. 3 spot. In No. 3 doubles action, Nagayama and true freshman Alexandra Torres have picked up a team-best two wins

The Blue Raiders and UAB meet for the 23rd time on Sunday with MT holding a 12-10 edge in the all-time series. Last season, Middle Tennessee defeated the Blazers, 5-2, in Birmingham, Ala.

With the opening of the dual season, the Blazers started out 4-0. UAB knocked off Jacksonville State, 4-0, on Friday. They have also won straight point matches over Mercer (7-0) and Georgia Southern (5-0).

There are three Blazers with unblemished records through four matches. Rachel Daniell, Isabel Fernandez and Elaine Simon have all combined for 12 wins in singles action. UAB has not lost a doubles point this season with all three tandems holding 3-0 marks.

"We are looking forward to getting back out on the courts tomorrow against UAB," said head coach Shelley Godwin. "We expect it to be a fight from the first ball and are going to have to be willing to work for every point."

After the UAB match, Middle Tennessee hits the road for matches at Butler, Miami (Ohio) and Austin Peay. Results of Sunday's contest will be posted online at GoBlueRaiders.com.
