Middle Tennessee visits in-state foe Austin Peay
Blue Raiders and Lady Govs meet for 33rd time
February 19, 2013 · @MTAthleticsMiddle Tennessee women's tennis concludes its three match road trip with a visit to in-state foe Austin Peay on Wednesday, Feb. 20. First serve is set for 2 p.m. inside the Governors Tennis Center.
The Blue Raiders (3-5) are coming off a tough 5-2 loss at Miami (Ohio) on Sunday. Redshirt senior Carla Nava picked up a victory in the fifth spot, while Flavia Nagayama claimed her fourth straight win with a 6-4, 6-4 decision in the No. 3 position. The junior leads the Blue Raiders with a 6-2 record in singles action.
All three doubles tandems have snatched three wins this season with MT collecting the doubles point in three matches.
Austin Peay and the Raiders meet for the 33rd time on Wednesday. MT holds a 29-3 all-time advantage and have won 12 consecutive matches dating back to April 3, 1991.
The Lady Govs (0-3) opened the season with three straight losses. In their last match on Feb. 9, Evansville edged APSU, 5-2. Ornella DiSalvo and Vanessa Tavares have the lone singles victories for Austin Peay this season.
