Blue Raiders grab comeback win at No. 34 North Carolina State

RALEIGH, N.C. - No. 43 Middle Tennessee won the doubles point for the fourth match in a row, and after falling behind by two, roared back to a 4-3 victory over No. 34 North Carolina State at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center on Tuesday.
Victor Cornea and Ben Davis paired in No. 2 doubles, defeating Beck Bond and Austin Powell, 8-2 in the first double match of the day. David Fox and Christoph Lang clinched the doubles point for MT after beating Robbie Mudge and Thomas Weigel, 8-2.
The Wolfpack opened to a 3-1 lead before the Raiders fought back. Born fell in straight sets to Sean Weber, 6-2, 6-4, in the fourth singles match. Cornea lost a hard-fought three set contest to Mudge (6-2, 2-6, 2-6), while Lang fell 6-4, 7-6 to NC State's Weigel.
Davis, who came into the week No. 98, gave MT its second point with his 7-6, 6-2 victory over No. 125 Powell in the top spot.
Ettore Zito defeated Simon Norenius in the fifth flight, 7-6, 6-4, tying the game at three, and setting up a winner-take-all battle in Flight 6, where Fox split the first two sets with Bond, 6-2, 6-1.
Fox then cruised through the final set, sending Bond down 6-1 and clinching the match.
Middle Tennessee is home on Feb. 22 to face Texas-San Antonio at the Bouldin Tennis Center. They will travel to Starkville, Miss., on Feb. 24 to battle Mississippi State.
